Today I'm reviewing my Keen Targhee III MID Waterproof Hiking Boots. Keen kindly sent these to me last year in preparation of my John Muir Trail thru-hike.
HIKING BOOT REVIEW: Keen Targhee III MID Waterproof Hiking Boots
What I like about these boots is that they have the ankle support I need, while also being flexible! I like using these boots for local and longer, 6-10 mile day hikes. These boots weigh 1 lb. 12.4 oz. and are not super heavy or clunky to wear.

I also find that these hiking boots are great for people with wide feet!
These are best-selling men and women's hiking boots by Keen, and come in various colors like: Magnet/Balsam, Weiss/Boysenberry, Magnet/Atlantic Blue, Bungee Cord/Redwood and Safari/Coral... (I picked the Weiss / Boysenberry color for myself.)

Some of the boot technology includes:
- KEEN.DRY™ waterproof breathable membranes keep feet dry while allowing perspiration to dissipate
- KEEN all-terrain rubber outsoles with 4mm multidirectional lugs promise high-traction grip
These qualities make these boots very useful for multi-terrain hiking. I would recommend these boots for lighter backpacking trips and day hiking!
The cost of these boots is $149.95.

As soon as I tried this boots on I immediately said to myself no comfort for my feet. I could feel the aggressive thread on the exterior soles through the cheap insoles placed in each boot. I’ve owned and used “Red Wings” just about all my life and I know comfort. Very disappointed that if I kept these boots after daily walks with my Lab my 71 year old feet with no bunions or calluses would not be able to do it much longer.
