"Hiking is my therapy. I am a psychologist and work with individuals who have experienced trauma. Hiking is my self-care and the challenge helped me hold myself accountable for scheduling time in my week for myself.
This was especially important this year with the stress of the pandemic. I rewarded myself at the end by buying a sterling silver necklace with an eagle pendant. I have occasionally been lucky enough to see eagles on some of my hikes and they are symbols of courage, strength, and focus."
